Fees

If you have questions about our fees, please contact our billing department. If you have a copay, please be prepared to pay it at the time of your office visit. We accept cash, check, MasterCard, Visa, and Discover.

Billing statements

Statements reflecting services rendered and any payments made by insurance or by you are sent monthly. Any remaining balance after insurance is patient responsibility. For questions about a statement, contact our insurance office at 919-854-0041 Ext. 107.

Procedure billing policy

Procedures are typically performed in our surgical center. Insurance provided by the patient is verified before the procedure date. While we file insurance as a courtesy, the patient is responsible for any amount insurance does not cover.

Screening and diagnostic colonoscopies are billed differently. A screening exam may be reclassified as diagnostic if polyps are removed or symptoms are documented—your plan’s rules then apply.

Pathology

Specimens taken during a procedure may be sent to a laboratory for diagnostic testing. Those charges are billed through the insurance provided. Any amount insurance does not cover is billed to the patient by Center for Digestive Diseases.

Anesthesia

Anesthesia is administered during procedures unless discussed otherwise with your physician. It is performed by skilled, licensed anesthesia professionals for your safety and comfort.

Anesthesia is provided by a separate contracted team. Those services are filed and billed separately by Anesthesia Care Services. Billing questions: (888) 447-7220 or (336) 884-4595.
